Unity in Diversity: Bridging Differences Among Nations

We are living in a diverse world full with differences. It seems to be a difficult world to live in since chaos always exists. Bad news arising from misunderstandings among nations seems to be never ending that sometimes, we even ask ourselves, can’t we be united with these differences?

Setting aside these statements, have you ever wonder how it feels to live in a diverse environment where every difference is treated as special qualities? An environment where you feel you are different, but your difference matters? Isn’t it a nice feeling to know that this can be our world if we just at least try to understand each other?

The world is naturally diverse as it consists of different nations each having a set of tradition, culture, belief, religion, etc. Most of the time, these differences are associated with disputes since most nations think they are superior compared to others. This thinking is prevalent in our generation as proven by social issues arising mostly from cultural differences.

Why do we have this prejudice among other nations when in fact, most of us haven’t even known them well. We haven’t experience their culture; we don’t know why they have that kind of strange belief; and we don’t understand their religion. Isn’t it fair enough to give ourselves a chance to know these differences first? Why don’t we try to see the beauty in these differences? I bet every nation wants to be appreciated and respected, so why don’t we do it first to others?
